PRIDE AFRIQUE 2023

Reimagining safety and solidarity

ABOUT

Pride Afrique 2023 adopts a hybrid format comprising physical and virtual interventions. The physical interventions will be executed at Turtle Bay, Mauritius in collaboration with Pan African ILGA.  Our virtual format for the Pride commemoration. This year we rolled out bilingual virtual conversations and public engagements through the Twitter space platform on the themes of diaspora engagement, media representation, social homophobia and migration. This year we consolidated our partnership with Pan Africa ILGA, for us to host the first ever in-person Continental Pride event in Africa. This will be held at the 2023 PAI Conference in Mauritius this year. Pride Afrique will be held on the last day of the conference, the 3rd of August, 2023. This is great as the conference will bring together over 400 LGBTQI+ persons, organizations, activists and allies in one space. If you will be attending the conference and will like to perform at the Pride event, kindly reach out. It will be a beachside Pride, so come fully prepared to make history.
